It's been over three months since my vacation from Singapore, but the images of some of the most relaxing days there still fill my mind on occasion. Summer is still three months away, but already I want to go somewhere warm again.

Everyday Singapore

In a way, it's like revisiting the past, because some things simply don't change about Singapore. In other ways, it's looking at how different things really are in one year. My stay in Singapore this year most certainly got me thinking about that. Today, we look at some of the things that really haven't changed all that much.

I had made my decision. I was going to CGM. So much happened that night, It was definitely one that I'll always remember.

I didn't tell anyone. Only a select few knew that I had left for Singapore, and only those in Singapore knew to expect me. My adventure begins, anew, starting with AFA X.

Didn’t feel like doing a photoshop image this week, and wanted to add a little more variety to my blog, so here’s another post on Singapore! It’s been over a month since the trip, so some of the memories have already started to fade a bit. It’s still all good to remember some of these great experiences though!

Singapore: Meeting with Comrades

by radiantdreamer December 01, 2009 in Things I Find Interesting 20 comments tags: anime, chicken rice, china square, chinatown, city hall, clarke quay, comrades, dhoby ghaut, ederuferuto, kareshi kanojy no mise, kinokuniya, liang court, manga, merchandise, nendoroids, orchard central, orchard road, outing, photography, pink dolphin, plaza singapura, scorchnroses, singapore, singtel, starbucks, sunshine plaza, tour, tourist, user66b, yuki-to, zh3us
This weekend, I was blessed with the opportunity to meet up with some Singaporean comrades, Zh3us,Yuki-To, Ederuferuto, User66b, and ScorchNRoses, who showed me around the city’s main Anime hotspots. While I’ve been to Singapore many times before this, I never knew where all the good anime stores were. I was limited to the major shopping malls, which were typically over-priced, and incredibly limited in selection. With my new friends, I got to see the more “underside” of where all the best stuff could be found.

Beyond AFA – What Singapore is like

by radiantdreamer November 27, 2009 in Things I Find Interesting 41 comments tags: beach, changi, changi vilage, chinese donut, food, food court, kaya toast, kopi, kopitiam, lg chocolate, lifestyle, mall, noodles, pancake, peanut, qoo, shopping, singapore, tayaki, watermelons
So I’m posting this mostly for the benefit of the people who did not get a chance to see Singapore during their short trip to and from AFA, for those who want to know more about Singapore, and also for those Singaporeans who are expats, and miss home. (Yes, you chun!) Considering that Singapore is the next most proliferant anime hub this side of the english internetz community, it makes sense to know more about Singapore’s people, and its infrastructure and land. I’m not going to delve into the history or its culture. You can find all that on wikipedia or something. I’m more interested in covering the more important aspects… the food, and the shopping!

Anime Festival Asia ’09- My Turn to AFA

by radiantdreamer November 25, 2009 in Anime & Video Games, Things I Find Interesting 45 comments tags: afa 09, alodia, anime festival asia, anisong, bandung, black rock shooter, bleach, convention, cosplay, danny choo, domo-kun, eneloop, evangelion, figma, goodsmile, Gundam, gwendolyn, K-ON!, kingdom hearts, kodomut, macross frontier, miku, mirai, moe moe kyun, naruto, oblivion island, production i.g., rozen maiden, Sgt. Keroro, shwarz, singapore, space channel 5, suntec, trigun, ulala, valkyria chronicles, wacom, xenoglossia
My very first anime convention, and it was the incredibly awesome Anime Festival Asia in Singapore. While many people chose to focus on the merchandise, I decided to focus on the participants of the con – the cosplayers. SIXTY crazy photos ahead! With Singapore being the next most proliferate anime hub, the cosplayers have quite the reputation to hold up, and it doesn’t disappoint.
