Drill drill drill! Your teeth are gonna get pwned!
Well, my busy schedule has slowed down a tad bit, but not enough to make me breathe a sigh of relief yet. There are some loose ends to tie up for certain, but it looks like I might be able to give myself a breather soon. So in the meantime, I thought I’d talk about some things that have been happening in my life.
Maintaining teeth is like maintaining a car
It must be dental check-up season, as I’ve noticed my blog stats have skyrocketed, with the majority of hits going to my Root Canal post that I wrote last year. Incidentally, I had a dental appointment a few days ago to get my teeth cleaned. It was then that I mentioned that one of my teeth seems a little sensitive when I’m eating. I was being cautious because that tooth also had a crack in it that we noticed from the previous check-up. At that time, my dentist said that the crack seems harmless right now, but if anything weird happens that I should let her know.
The teeth cleaning was fine. Ever since my root canal, I had vowed to do my best to keep my teeth cleaner. I’ve even bought an electric tooth brush too!
My dentist decided that it might be a good idea to remove the old filling for that tooth and fill the crack while she’s at it, so I had another appointment the following day. The filling procedure had a hiccup, and that was during the injection of the anesthesia/freezing. These past few years, every time I get one of those needles jabbed in me, I start to feel woozy. Not sure if it’s because I’m getting a panic attack, or if the anesthesia was going to my head. Whatever it is, it didn’t feel good, and not only that, the freezing didn’t really work (I felt a bit of pain when the drill came around). I’m wondering if my dentist put the needle too far into the back of my mouth rather than the front…
During the filling, she found a cavity inside, basically where the crack was. It’s a good thing that this filling was re-done, otherwise I might have been on my way to yet another root canal procedure! However, 24hrs after the filling was done, my tooth feels a slight bit of pain when I eat or drink. This is raising a bit of concern for me, as usually teeth don’t hurt after doing a filling, unless the filling was deep, which of course has its own complications… it may lead to a root canal procedure. Internet searches show that it’s fairly common, and does go away. But if it doesn’t, then that’s a sign of a potential root canal attack. 🙁
Next week, I have to go back again, this time to get a crown fitted over the tooth that got the root canal procedure. Some info for you if you don’t know – after a root canal procedure, your tooth is basically a dead, empty shell. The nerve is no longer there to provide nutrients to your tooth, and it eventually becomes brittle, and can possibly even shatter. To prevent that from happening, they put a crown over the tooth to protect it.
I was supposed to get that done as soon as possible. Basically half a year or so later, after things have settled down in my tooth and I don’t get any re-infections. But I’ve been dreading this procedure more than the root canal procedure itself now. Think for a moment – how do they get a crown over your tooth? Where is the room for it? The answer? Not sure you want to hear it – they literally file and sand your tooth down to a nub, and place the crown on top of that.
Now you see why I’m dreading this?! But I suppose it’s inevitable. I’d rather do that, than have my tooth potentially shatter on me and they’d have to remove the bits…
Enough talk about teeth!! All I can say is KEEP YOUR TEETH CLEAN!
Cleaning Out The Trash
A few weeks ago, I took pix of half of my figures (you saw). In addition, I went through all of my old anime/jpop cds and old manga, and decided to donate a bunch to the library, but retracted that decision when a friend of mine recommended a bookstore called “Book-Off“.
They’re apparently a huge company that deals specifically with pre-owned books, cds, video games, and dvds. They take pretty much ANYTHING that you give them within Japanese pop-culture, no matter how old. Just don’t expect to get good returns. Most of my CDs fetched only a dollar. But my biggest concern was simply clearing out space. And a dollar was better than nothing if I had opted to donate to the library instead.
Book-Off didn’t take “fake” CDs though. You know, those rip-offs from Taiwan like SM Records and such? That’s when my friend recommended Halfmoon Bookstore. It’s been around a lot longer than Book-Off, and they used to be located downtown. I used to know the owner back then until they changed ownership. I had no idea they took pre-owned books and cds. They fetched a better price there, and they’re more targeted towards anime/manga than the more general Book-Off.
I’ll try to take pics of these two places the next time I go.
I did like Book-Off’s selection, though. I ended up spending quite a bit there, my loot being the Supercell Miku CD, the Japanese version of Final Fantasy Tactics, and Shinkai Collection. I also bought the Princess Ai manga collection from Halfmoon.
I spent more than I brought in.
So how much stuff did I end up bringing in? About the size of a Yotsubox, weighing maybe 20lbs or more, and I came home with 4 discs. 😛
I highly recommend the Shinkai collection. Especially Voices of a Distant Star. It’s a very good anime apparently created by one person.
Even though I had the english version (non-greatest hits) of Final Fantasy Tactics, the Japanese version was only $12, so why not? 🙂
I intend to go back to these two places this week, as I’ve got another small stack of goods to trade-in, and maybe some more things to buy… O_o;
Objection!!
During this “close to a month” hiatus, I’ve had little time to play video games. Resonance of Fate still sits at pretty much the same place the last time I talked about it. I did however, manage to finish the new Ace Attorney though. According to my tracker, it’s taken exactly one month to do, with a mere 10hr investment. The majority of the time, I played while I should be in bed sleeping, not playing video games in the dark. I believe it’s the fastest I’ve ever finished an Ace Attorney game, with Phoenix Wright 1 being the longest.
I’d have to say that I liked it. It’s pretty much like all the other Ace Attorney games, except it isn’t a courtroom setting. This opens it up and changes the pacing, because it’s no longer restricted to the solid pacing of Investigating > Courtroom > Investigating >Courtroom etc. The designers could essentially pace it however they want with whatever flexibility they want.
The new sprite-based aspect of it lends itself well to traditional point-and-click style gameplay, but more importantly, you get a much greater scope of action rather than simple still portrait shots of characters.
Overall, this is by far the best designed Ace Attorney game yet. The only problem I found was the incredibly large plot-holes that resulted from taking several liberties for the sake of convenience, and simplification. Things like “I know I can trust his statement because he’d never do something that stupid.” and it ends up being fact.
The design and execution of the game is well done, the characters were entertaining, the cases were fun and actually got you thinking, and the updated graphics look great to boot.
Other Things
So I’ll end this post with other quick blurbs…
I got myself a new patio set. On sale for 25% off! Just in time for summer. Wanted to get patio furniture last year, but ended up deciding too late. The summer season was close to over, and the set that I wanted was 75% off, but didn’t have any complete stock (You have to buy the chairs and table separately). This year, I decided to just settle with 25% off, and I get to use it for the whole summer! I was going to write this blog post on my laptop outside, but it’s charging. So maybe next time.
Ah, the signs of Spring… It’s been really good weather this whole week. I saw a small bird (about the size of a Nendoroid) about 50 feet away, just on a wire, so I decided to take a picture of it. While my lens isn’t telephoto, I’d have to say that this isn’t bad. It’s definitely more detail than what the naked eye can see.
I also had the luxury of driving a Smart Car during these warm beautiful days. The roof is almost completely retractable, giving some great time to be had while whizzing around town. My car was out for service, so this is a courtesy vehicle. It was a fun drive. And such a SMALL car! Oh wait… a figure photoshop idea is forming!
An absolutely delicious dessert we had, a few weeks back (same week I went to Book Off). Also Tiramisu in the back too. Also delicious. You can bet your nendoroids they would have wanted some! 🙂
Recently, I got a pile of swag from a very good friend in the UK. As you can see, Konata is swimming in it as is overjoyed. I’m sure most of you will know exactly what this is, just from the photograph, but it will have to wait until later for me to show you the extent of the loot.
See you all again real soon!
I hope I won’t have to undergo root canal treatment. My wisdom teeth are growing, slowly, year by year.
Anyway, Voices of a Distant Star is amazing. It’s just spectacular what a thirty minute anime can do to you. I remember watching it at a convention after it came out. I recently tracked down a copy on eBay, to own.
The Place Promised in Our Early Days is not bad, but it’s also not /that/ good.
As for getting rid of old books/whatever I no longer need? I often give books to friends/family who might want them first, and then give them to the library, especially books. I do lug comics to a comic shop that gives me credit, but comics weigh less, would fare worse in a public library, and probably yield more money. I love books, and I really used to haunt the library, so giving them books that people may like is an idea I endorse.
Then again, if I could drive 5-10 minutes and drop books for say, $3-4 each, I’d probably do it. I know a couple of used book-stores. They’re not close, but it might still pay to check. But no, giving back is also good.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is splendid, and if I had a PSP I’d have purchased the Tactics one as well, but alas…
🙂
You’ll have to be careful with the wisdom teeth. If they overcrowd, it CAN cause a tooth to crack. THEN you’ll have to either do a root canal, or get the tooth removed. It’s best to get your wisdom teeth removed early before it sets in and becomes even more difficult. I remember that they had to shatter my wisdom tooth into 4 pieces for extraction because it was so set in already (and I was only 20 at the time!)
I haven’t seen The Place Promised in Our Early Days yet, but definitely did love Voices of a Distant Star. The CG stuff is obviously a bit dated now, but just the idea that this was done all by one guy, still floors me even today as it did back then.
The thing with giving books and cds away to friends and family is that no one I know is really all that into anime like I am. And even if I did know friends like that, they wouldn’t be interested in my old stuff just as much as how little interest I have in them myself.
I do endorse donating books to the library, just not anime books. Since I live in a mostly North American culture, there is very little interest in this stuff. Best to take it somewhere that people would actually appreciate.
The world of Ivalice is nice. I really enjoyed FFT, and all the other Ivalice games. This was definitely a no-brainer for me. While you may not have a PSP, perhaps you may want to consider getting a PS1? They’re cheap, and you’ll get your FFT. You will most likely enjoy it more than FFTA as well because of the much deeper and richer story that FFTA so seriously lacked.
I have a PS2. Well, FFTA had the bonus of being carriable and such, and having fights! And such.
FFTA 2 exists, but I don’t have a DS, I only got as far as SP. The fact so many games could no longer hold saves or just had their saves lost with the GBA drove me nuts, especially since all my games are RPG/Strategy with 50-100 hours invested.
The PS1 game is also sold for too much on eBay, yikes.
Only the new one is costly, anyway, got a PS2 Slim, will it play it well?
Oh if you have a PS2, then that works. Indeed FFTA was portable. FFTA2 is supposed to be more of the same. FFT for PS though, that’s a completely different beast altogether.
I’ve got FFTA, never finished it. I’ve got FFTA2, haven’t even started it. It just didn’t feel like they were very good games in comparison to the original FFT. That might be just me though…
Man, I LOVE Book-Off. I’ve only been there once. When I went on vacation to O’ahu there was a Book-Off in the Uptown/Downtown Mall (in the Downtown part where Kaybee Toys used to be). I snagged several volumes of Nodame Cantabile for five bucks each. I was a very happy camper. Too bad Book-Off stores are so rare in the US. When I get rid of manga I just trade it in to AnimeNation for store credit. I wish AnimeNation still had an actual brick and mortar store, though…used to be you could go there with your stuff and they’d look it over then and there. Now you gotta ship your goods to them, even if you live in Florida.
As for tooth related nonsense: I’ve already had my wisdom teeth removed. Getting knocked out via gas was one of the best experiences ever. I kept having crazy dreams that ended with me saying “This can’t be happening. I’m at the dentist!”. When I got a cavity treated they gave me a shot in the mouth. Watching that giant needle slowly inch towards your mouth was…pretty unnerving. And then the injection itself…ouch.
I actually came THIS close to buying the new Ace Attorney game today when I went to pick up Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble. But I found a new copy of Persona 4 for $27 and got that instead. Next time, Miles Edgeworth. Next time.
It’s incredible how big a company can get simply by buying your used books. They’re a global chain! I suppose it is fairly profitable if they buy your book at a dollar, and then sell it for 10.
Speaking of Nodame, I actually have a few odds and ends from the manga which I’ll probably end up trading in to either Book Off or Halfmoon.
5 bucks per manga is pretty darn good! There are some manga that I might want to pick up from Book Off next time I go there.
I didn’t know Anime Nation had a brick and mortar store! I’ve always only thought they were online-only. Good to know. What did it look like? Any old junky comic shop hole in the wall? Or some really nice clean comic store?
Must have been awesome to be knocked out like that. When I got knocked out, it was a dreamless sleep, like I was dead. Honestly, it’s probably as close to feeling what death is like as I’ll get. But then again, I wasn’t gassed. I was put under through anesthesia. I remember the anaesthetist came in, put the needle in me, and I was asleep before I could finish singing “Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.” When I woke up, I’m like “what the hell happened? Why are there sponges in my mouth and why am I bleeding there?”
That needle is MASSIVE eh?! Scary. I’ve had more needles stuck in my mouth than I can count. Seriously. And I STILL can’t get used to it!
Good luck with getting Miles Edgeworth next time. Definitely a good buy if you liked all the previous games in the series. How’s Badass Rumble anyway? Any good?
The AnimeNation store was very small, but pretty cool. It was in their office/warehouse building…in fact when I look back, I think the “store” was just a large office/room converted to a store.
There was a small section for anime, manga, plushes, toys (they also had a glass cabinet full of resins), food, and other random apparel. They also had a large TV that was always playing a random anime. Every now and then they had this super awesome “Warehouse Sale” where you’d get to go inside their warehouse and raid the shelves for stuff. (I found a Cardcaptor Sakura Clow Book tarot card set…but wasn’t able to get. Wish I did. That thing is stupidly rare these days.) They eventually moved to another location (larger warehouse, I think). They had this place open to the public for a while but eventually stopped. I don’t know if they allow visitors now.
Badass Rumble is pretty darn funny. The gameplay could’ve definitely used some work. Battles feel a bit sluggish. But the silly humor makes up for it.
Well that’s kind of interesting. I’ve seen that kind of “office converted to store” types before – fluorescent panel lighting, the walls are all white.
The Warehouse Sale thing sounds very cool. I would have loved to get a set of Clow cards myself. I guess they eventually got bigger and bigger, and felt that they were getting more out of their online store than staffing for a store front. Understandable, since the world is your location, and the physical location probably doesn’t attract local appeal.
Might check out Badass Rumble someday… still got my own problems er, games to tackle. ^^;
No comments on dentistry >.>
I should really get to Book-Off soon… My manga is piling up again and I need to get rid of the old ones >_<
Well, I’m going to Book Off tomorrow. I might run into you there if you happen to go! ^^
I haven’t organized them yet, lol. So unfortunately not tomorrow. I have a dim sum brunch for mother’s day… Yes, a week late, but better late than never. Another time perhaps 🙂
aaah dentistry… I sympathise. Had my share of trouble when I was a kid already. More than 5 years spent with braces fixed on the inner side of the teeth ’cause I didn’t want to stop playing the trombone, 6 teeth removed, a lot of pain hahaha ^^
So now I try to take care of them as much as I can… not easy though, and there are things that are inevitable.
Small car and figure photoshop idea uh? looking forward to it ^^
Supercell rocks~ /fan
Oh man, on the inside of your teeth?! I’ve never had braces on the inside. That must have felt pretty bad on your tongue too…
I had 4 wisdom teeth removed, where as my wife had 8 teeth removed. O_o
Hopefully, my vigorous teeth care now will help slow down the inevitable as much as possible. I honestly can’t count how many fillings I have now. 🙁
You like Supercell? It’s not too bad. In general though, I’ve never been a huge fan of Miku’s songs. My friend teases me all the time about me being a closet Miku fan, but I don’t think I am. 😛
Haha yeah me neither. Not that a Miku fan ^^ But there is a bunch of songs I really enjoy, especially since I’ve played Project Diva on PSP. And I am really looking forward the 2nd game. About Supercell, it is mostly the Bakemonogatari anime ED which triggered off my interest for them. And I just realised afterwards they did some songs for Miku ^^;;
Braces on the inside yeah… took me a while to get used to it, but the hardest was 5 years later when I got them removed. I needed a speech therapy to re-learn how to correctly place my tongue against my teeth, and I lost a lot from my articulation skills ^^;; T’was a necessary evil to keep playing the instrument I love.
You sound like a Miku fan to me. 😛
I actually don’t know why I bought the Supercell CD. Miku music isn’t really my thing. Her voice sounds screechy, and still too artificial. When I was driving the courtesy car, I couldn’t hook up my iPhone, so just listened to that CD while driving. It certainly did make my trip enjoyable though. That’s for sure.
Dang you suffered immensely for your instrument! The whole speech therapy thing must have been crazy! Did you get depressed at all about it? That would have been a big blow to my self-esteem. But I’m guessing that if you turned back time and did it all again, you’d still wear it on the inside.
Five years of braces is a long time. I wore mine for 3, while my wife wore hers for 2.
Well, I guess I had the chance to go through all this dentistry stuff while I was still quite young, between 11 and 16. It did not bothered me a lot. Only the appointment to the dentist were… a nightmare ^^;;;
And speech therapy only lasted 2 months. I was just to ensure I would get bad habits and correctly replace the tongue where it should have been – and especially for the instrument, and articulation stuff.
But yeah, at the end I don’t regret it at all. It was necessary, and we found a solution to allow me to keep play the instrument I love, even if it was a bit incapacitating. But normal braces would have meant to stop completely.
Wow, well that’s good that you got your braces early. I didn’t get mine until I was about 19. Not ideal if you want to get a date. ^^;
It’s a good thing that the speech therapy didn’t take long either. Did you find your speech skills improved more than before you got braces?
MAN…you would talk about teeth/dentist stuff, I’ve been trying not to think about this stuff. I just had two cavities filled and three fillings replaced. I’m trying to take better care of my teeth, but in the back of my mind I think I’ve already given up. I’ve already lost so much enamel in so many places that I feel like anything I do at this point is just delaying the inevitable. For video games I started Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, but I take breaks between turnabouts. It seems like I get my fill of Phoenix one trial at a time, I finish a case and then I float somewhere else before coming back.
Ugh… I totally know how you feel. It gets to a point where you feel that no matter what you do, the damage is done, and cannot be reversed. Getting fillings replaced sucks, because you know that it’s only temporary, and will never been the same. It makes me feel even worse when a new cavity comes around. I didn’t know that I actually still had some teeth that never got a filling before. Damn!
I find it interesting that you’re taking breaks between chapters in Phoenix Wright. I couldn’t stop playing! After I’m done a case I’m like “hmm… I’m curious on what the next case is about… I have some time, I can just watch the intro…” and then be lead on. ha ha ha
Blazblue, of course. The BLAZ did help, but I’d recognize the emblem even with my eyes closed. That’s one scary story on the teeth. Darnit, another bodily matter to worry about. While the conservative will complain the day they create a full-time life-sustaining virtual reality pod, I’d be jumping for joy.
Though, if the nerves and contents of the tooth have already been removed, then filing it down shouldn’t hurt that much, right? Right?
Yeah, I’ve heard of Voices of a Distant Star. Should probably check that out sometime. I see you’ve finally got Supercell’s album too – I’d call it a good run 😀
And then Edgeworth gets his own game. Man. I guess he was too hard to look away from. In every sense.
Can’t wait for BBCS. Anticipating that story mode almost as much as I’m anticipating Starcraft 2. Mu’s gonna be awesome, and I may even chance subbing her. Probably not, given my lack of dexterity, but a child can dream.
Ningyo is smart! :3 Of course, I expect nothing less from you, being a Blazblue fan and all as well.
My appointment is tomorrow! I am feeling a little scared about it. The dentist said that they won’t need to put any anesthesia since the nerve has already been pulled out. I guess it’s just the thought that they’ll be sanding my tooth down to a stump that scares me.
If something like the Matrix actually did come around, I suppose I’d jump for joy as well, as long as it can actually maintain your health. After all, fake or real, your it is sensory experience, so your brain wouldn’t really be able to tell the difference, though purists would say otherwise.
An Edgeworth game was inevitable, really. Lots of fans have been wanting to play the side of prosecutor, and Edgeworth’s character had developed well enough to be “a good guy”. I thoroughly enjoyed it, just like every other Ace Attorney game. If you like them, you should play too!
Did you know that there is a leaked PC version of BBCS out there? I’m sure you did. In any case, I look forward to BBCS as well. But first, I really need to spend more time on the story of BBCT. I’ve only beaten Noel’s storyline (and just the first playthrough too!)
So how did it go? Uneventful, I hope :p
Yes, I was in the knowledge of that. First thing I did was go through Tsubaki’s arcade, to see what she does to Noel and Jin. …Really, the results are unsurprising. Otherwise I’ve played some Rachel, but nobody in a thousand kilometer radius of me plays fighters, so no one to invite over for games. Arcade mode’s story is too lackluster, I can’t wait for the console game’s story mode. Also, no Mu.
Lol yes, that you do, there’s still a lot more story waiting for you. Especially the true ending; you’ll wet your pants. Figuratively.
I have to say, I did not enjoy the procedure. Getting your tooth filed down to a nub is not a pleasant visual. Unfortunately, they did have to use anesthesia, since they were filing it below the gum-line too. They had to inject extra in me, because I guess my body has become somewhat immune to the anesthetic, since so much work has been done to my teeth in recent years. 🙁
They put a temporary crown on, but I believe the glue has come loose, and now the crown is a little bit… wobbly. I might have to go back to get them to re-glue it. I don’t get my real crown until two weeks from now.
I did manage to get a copy of the leaked PC version, but haven’t tried it out yet. Sounds like it’s rather crippled compared to what will come from the console version, so in that regards, I’m glad there’s still something to look forward to. Are you getting the PS3 version or the 360 version? I’ll definitely be getting the PS3 version. Still don’t like the idea of paying a subscription to play online.
Good grief! Good luck with your trip to the dentist!
Even the phrase “Root Canal” sends shivers down me, i know a couple of people who are also unfortunate enough to of had them. . .
Nice little smart car you got the chance of driving too, ive never actually been in one or seen the interior but i really like the colour of the one you managed to drive XD Curious to see your figure photoshop idea too!
The root canal procedure isn’t all that bad, if you get a specialist. It can be done in an hour, and is pretty much like getting a regular filling. It becomes problematic if your roots are complicated, or if you have to make repeated visits to get it done. The worst part is the pain that you suffer from your toothache before the procedure.
The Smart Car’s interior feels relatively spacious compared to its exterior size, but then again, it’s only a two-seater. I felt surprisingly safe in the vehicle too, where as I initially thought it would feel like a scary ride in an aluminum can. I quite like the color too! If I ever bought a Smart Car, I think this would be the color I’d get!
I think many will dread to visit the dentist and I am one of them. Just sometime the short pain is better than longer pain. So if have problem, just get it done ASAP.
I agree with you on that. The sooner you get it done, the less damage it will have done to your teeth. Of course, the best thing to do is prevent it from happening in the first place. Though that can be tough to do sometimes.
Get well soon! Hope it’s nothing too bad.
Now that you mention about dental stuff, I should go see my dentist soon cuz my tooth gets really shitty when eating/drinking cold food/drinks.. I really hate listening results of the check-ups.. it gives me the chills.
Uh oh… that’s not a good sign. Have you been taking good care of your teeth at all?
If the pain you get is instant and doesn’t linger, that means your gums are receding. You’re either not brushing your teeth right, or not flossing.
Good thing that didn’t happen at all. I brush my teeth regularly maybe 4-5x a day but flossing… nah.. I don’t know how to apply floss. hahaha
Actually, what you’re doing is NOT a good idea. Brushing after every major meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is generally okay. But if you brush too much, you’re wearing down the protective enamel on your teeth, making it more susceptible to cavities. And it also wears down your gums too (which may be why yours are receding). Flossing is highly important, as the majority of food particles are stuck between. When you leave food particles in your teeth overnight, they break down and become bacterial plaque. I know this is true because usually when I floss at night, I get bits of food. But if I forgot to floss, and floss in the morning instead, it’s just some pasty white crap.
Seriously, look up on youtube how to floss. Don’t be like me and end up regretting it.
hahah.. this is bad… orite thanks for the advice.
oh god Good luck with your trip to the dentist!
i know a couple of people who are also unfortunate enough to of had them. . .
i have a dentist appointment next week D:
Thanks. I got my temporary crown. Honestly the procedure scared me quite a bit. I mean, they’re literally sanding your tooth down!!! I don’t like this temporary crown, but I have to live with it for two weeks! I’m glad that the next visit won’t involve any needles though. ^^;
Good luck with your dentist appointment! I do hope that it’s good news! 🙂
Good luck!!
Can’t say much about your dental experiences, but hope your next one goes smoothly. Never liked going to doctors or dentists personally so I can understand the fear of it in some ways… (Don’t really like to talk about it).
But are electrical toothbrushes effective? My parents did buy them for themselves around 10 years ago, but nowadays they’ve switched back to normal brushes. They seem to be about the same as far as I was told.
I asked my dentist about electric toothbrushes, and she said that they are slightly better than manual brushing. The best one to get is a sonic type brush, like a Sonicare. It sends sonic pulses through the brush itself and will get to places you normally leave out of place.
They’re expensive though.
A cheaper option would be a $12-$14 electric toothbrush. Not the vibrating kind, but the rotating kind. Those work very well too.
My teeth feel like crying at the sound of what you described with the crown thing 🙁
You patio set looks awesome! Getting to sit outside in soon-to-be/already beautiful weather is so relaxing.
Wah! A loot post! Those posts always so entertaining 🙂
Turns out that the crown thing isn’t as bad as I imagined. Actually it is, but maybe I’m just desensitized by it now. They do indeed sand it down a couple of millimeters each side, which is quite a bit. They give you a temporary crown, but it seems the glue wore off on it, so the crown popped off. Now my curious tongue is constantly trying to touch what remains of the tooth until I get the crown put back in. It’s already fallen out twice now! I’ll be glad when the permanent crown goes in with more permanent glue.
I haven’t sat at the patio since this post! Weather has turned to crap. 🙁 But the warm summer days are still ahead! I can’t wait!
Loot post will come sometime after June 5th. Stay tuned! 😀
OOOH! Fellow Ace Attorney and Final Fantasy Tactics fan! ? I love those two games! X3 And you’re definitely right, AAI is definitely the best in terms of gameplay, although I am not so fond of the plot holes.
Your stories about the dentist made me kind of scared D: I haven’t visited a dentist for quite some time now. ><;;
^^ FFT FTW! 😀
I think I wasn’t so concerned about the plot holes as much before, when I played the other AA games. It’s either incredibly obvious in AAI, or I’m perceiving things differently now.
You should go see the dentist at least once every year. It’s important to at least get a regular check-up and teeth cleaning. The dental work done on me was a result of not going often enough, and not taking good care of my teeth. >_<
