Well, another year has passed, and another one begins. The only difference is that I rarely make new year’s resolutions anymore. Probably because I don’t stick to them. What’s your new year’s resolution?
I suppose having a new year’s resolution helps you stay on track, but then, why wait until new year’s to do that? All that ends up happening is you have a whole lot of enthusiasm to try and meed your resolutions, and then you give up after a couple of months, if at all. How’s that different from regular resolutions throughout the year? Usually, new year’s resolutions are ambitious, and outright impossible. “I’m gonna lose 20 pounds in the next two months!” and then after three weeks, you realize you’ve only lost 5 pounds, you give up. “This is impossible! I might as well forget it.”
I guess if you’re really diligent, you’d be able to stick to the resolution… just set something a little more reasonable, I guess.
Now that the majority of the high priority tasks are done, I can start focussing on some of the things that I’ve been putting off, like my website. My art. Reading up on some finance stuff (maybe). The thing is, my wife got me a PS3 for christmas, and I haven’t really done anything around the house because of this pleasant distraction-turned-obsession. I tell her, and myself “It’s a new toy. It’ll pass.”
I tell ya, Folklore is highly addictive. The whole “Gotta Catch ’em All” thing really works in this one. Not only is it in your best interest to catch them all, but to also catch them all several times to beef up your arsenal. Anyway, I wasn’t going to turn this into a review of the really well done Folklore.
Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best!
Happy New Year! Never really was much for resolutions myself. Though I do tend to make prophecies for myself at the stroke of midnight :p But even that stopped when they never come true no more, lol.
You’re right though, no sense waiting for a new year to start making “big” plans. If you’re gonna do it, just do it I say. I think it’s a double-edged sword to try to do so with full enthusiasm since if the plan blows up in your face, you’ll just remember it more painfully. That said, I do wish I could cut down on the figgies though ^^; It’s almost one figure/game per week I’m sucking into my lungs at the rate I’m going, heh.
Sweet on getting the PS3, can’t say I really want it yet since there’s not much of a library going for it, but I’m not gonna flat out lie and say: “Meh, it’s just a PS3”, it’s definitely a nice thing to have no matter what one might say =)
PS3 is always nice :D, you can add me as your PSN friend if you like, my PSN id is ronaldhw
I’ve finished folklore back in october, it’s a good game, but quite short.. I finished everything in around 20 hours mark..
The only game that I play often (200+ hours) is Agarest Senki, my favorite game so far 😀
@ ron : I saw you post stuff on your site about Agarest Senki! Too bad I know very little japanese and would have trouble playing the game. I think I’m downloading the demo off of PSN Japan right now (not sure if it’s a demo or if it’s an add on) also noticed quite a few free add-ons for it!
Just finished Chapter 5 for Ellen. My, quite a twist! I kind of expected it, but it was still shocking to finally see it happen. 😛 It’s a longer game if you try to collect everything and max out everything. 🙂 Oh, and there are more sidequests to download now!
there’s demo and item packs (free and pay), bought several item myself
I sold my folklore already, so can’t really try the side quest ^^;
