One figure I’ve had for a very long time now is this Comic Party Mizuki Takase, by Kotobukiya. She’s actually been through quite the history with me, even though I don’t really think too much about her.
I bought her I think about 4 years ago when I saw her in the Previews catalog. There was something about her that I really liked. I think it’s the cute smile or something.
A friend of mine would frequently help me 0rder my figures, because I really had no means of ordering them myself. Well, actually I did, but there’s a reason why I didn’t. Anyway, he helped me order it, and several months later, she was released.
She ended up sitting on my shelf for quite a while. I remember sharing a photo or two of her on figure.fm when it was first established. Since I’ve always been lazy, I never really dusted her either. Poor neglected pvc girl…
Eventually, I took her to my workplace and displayed her at my office shelf. She was one of the “safe for work” figures, so I decided she’d make a good candidate. She had been in my office ever since.
A couple years ago, I got laid off, so I had to pack her up, and bring her home. The thing was, I didn’t have room to really display her anywhere. I had accumulated so many figures over the years at work, and at home, that I never accounted for the possibility that I would have all those figures at home. Fortunately, she was in good company, as many of my favorites were also put into storage.
She stayed in storage for a while, until the last half a year or so, when I pulled her out again, dusted her off, and put her in one of my Detolf shelves. Now, poor Mizuki is gonna be let go. She’s really sweet, so I’m a little sad to see her go, but I’ve gotta make more room, and free up more funds.
An absolutely brilliant and beautiful figure for the sale price of $35. If she sells, then I’ll be glad she’s going to a good home where someone will take good care of her. If not, well I’d be okay with that too.
EDIT: She’s been sold!
Nice picture ^^ This figure is cute, but too simple ^^ Thanks you for this presentation 🙂
Yeah she is pretty simple. She comes from a simpler time, when life was a lot less complicated.
It’s a pity to see another figure going, but she sure looks pretty sweet and lively.
I remember I used to have a time where I kept on asking a friend of mine to bid stuff for me on ebay, because I couldn’t be bothered to make an account for myself. Eventually I did start up one, but by then I tend to go to local shops instead to buy the stuff I want.
I look among my collection, and there are actually very few figures I own that look as lively as her. Most of my figures look a little melancholic, or too cool. Fortunately, my nendoroids make up for that. ^_^
Comic Party is one of those shows that seem to fit my tastes but I never got around watching it, what with the new shows coming and forgetting about the ones’ due.
I also feel your pain, sometimes it’s hard to part with figures, especially when you become an elitist and get only the ones you really want, so the emotional attachment is deeper than getting stuff on a whim. I’ve tried to keep my collection in check with the rule “only enough to fit the detolf” but it seems useless, I always pre-order new ones -_-U
Ha ha I know what you mean! I’m exactly the same. I blame the detolf’s terribly cramped design for lack of space!! 😛
But yeah, I’ve been trying to sell the figures I really can’t keep anymore because I’m making room for the ones I really want. I used to order so many on a whim it was ridiculous. But it’s getting harder and harder to cut because I’m creeping up to the figures that I really like. *sigh*
I agree the detolf is very faulty in terms of how many shelves it has, in my collection there’s enough space on top of each figure to make space for another shelf, which means more purchases lol =P
lol you’re doing what I did, just sell those little critters! You know were I sold my RAH’s death note dolls right away? in Amazon. The fee sucked, but I still got around 115 for each when they cost me a bit more than that before and it took me just a week to get them off my back. I like it more than ebay at least, that place is just crawling with bootlegs and scammers.
I think the number of shelves is okay. Having the empty space above makes it look less crowded. The biggest problem is that it’s a square shelf, making it very odd to display say, two figures on a shelf without it looking awkward. You need to display 1, 3, or 5 in a flower arrangement. And it being square, you lose a lot of space in the middle if you have the detolfs lined up side by side.
Rectangular displays are far better for figures.
I might consider amazon.com as a selling option. Thanks for the suggestion!
Really gorgeous figure, and great price too! Nice get indeed ^^
No no! You have it all wrong! I’m trying to SELL her! If you want her, you can buy her.
LOL really? My air-headedness seems to be showing through again. Gomen! orz
Think I wrote that comment around 11 at night *~*
Maybe put a giant FOR SALE somewhere around the top of the post for people like me! lulz

It’s mint condition, still has its box and all packaging, properly taken care of, and original (not bootleg or fake).
You are welcome to make me an offer (excluding shipping).
Poor Mizuki. Forever doomed to circulate the spammed pages of Craigslist, unwanted… T_________T
lol! Oh yeah, I need to add more figures to the list! She’s not the only one on the chopping block, and you know it! 😀
If you wanted to buy one, how do you normally accept payment?
I accept payment via paypal.
So I’m guessing you have a separate paypal for being sold items then? I think I’m interested in buying it.
By the way, you might want to remove her from the for sale section. =)
I’m glad I was able to provide a new home for her and I hope to keep her for years to come! She was definitely worth buying. =D
I’m happy that things are going well between you and Mizuki-chan. I miss her, but glad she is in good hands. 😀
