Those that have been following me for such a long time will have noticed that it’s gone from a happy cheery themed wordpress blog into a dark and somewhat emo looking non-blog.
I’ve discussed this before with several friends on Twitter. You may be one of the people I’ve asked your opinion on it – whether to continue blogging on wordpress.com…
or, to migrate my blog to an actual domain name with self-hosting.
I’ve decided to migrate!
Wait what? So Radiantdreamer isn’t dead? Naw! I wouldn’t abandon my readers just like that! To think of it in a more self-ego boosting way, it’s like Jesus resurrected. In a way, the things that I’ve been busy with, the death in the family, and some things changing in my life, now is a good time to start a new chapter for RadiantDreamer. I don’t go down THAT easily!
The migration isn’t just a simple “switch domain -> 301 redirect -> ???? -> profit!!” model here. This is where I can jump back into blogging again (because I love blogging!) and present myself in a much more enjoyable and entertaining way.
That’s the whole reason why radiantdreamer.net redirected away from my gallery, and back to this blog here. Because I was busy setting up the new blog. It’s half-way done now, and I’m happy with the results so far. But here’s the important part of this post that you WILL want to know:

haha yeah. Well, up until recently, wordpress.com didn’t do 301 redirects (permanent). They only did 302 redirects (temporary). Plus I didn’t know how to migrate my google SEO rankings. And now I do, so it’s a great opportunity to do so.
I didn’t really know what to expect when you put something that sounds very grave on your tweet. But at least it’s good to know this is a false alarm and you are moving on in a good way.

I am kinda busy with things at the moment, so it’s getting hard for me to catch up with people’s blogs these days orz. Just done first part of ACGHK 2010 coverage, and still got ~150 photos left to sort out. And oh yes I got my Snow Miku (may do a review once I get the ACGHK stuff done)!

Yeah, I’ve been planning to do this for a very long time now. Well, mostly thought about it for a very long time.
I didn’t actually make the decision until about a month ago. I had bought a new wordpress theme already, but didn’t have time to get the blog up. With all the crazy stuff happening, I had to let that slip, and of course, my wordpress blog also suffered as well.
I think that it’s usually slower during the summer months, as people are going places and doing other things. It’s a great time to refresh. So it’s understandable when one doesn’t have time to catch up on others’ blogs.
I would love to see a Snow Miku review, for sure! 🙂
