Sorry for the complete lack of updates last week, as well as my lack of responding to all your comments. I’ve been quite busy with work lately, and I’ve also been laying it pretty hard with gaming (I finished three games this February!)
I’m going to switch gears for a little bit, and change my priorities. With work coming on heavy, and me wanting to fit in more gaming, I’ll have less time to blog.
[Edit: Added for clarification]
What does this mean?
- This does NOT mean I’m stopping blogging. I’ll still be doing posts.
- Posting frequency will change – It may not be on time anymore.
- No figure reviews – it takes a lot of time to snap photos, and even more time to process and type stuff for them.
- More art – basically, more sketching, sometimes a full image.
- Photoshopping – may become more frequent, or less frequent. Dunno!
- Special features dropped – articles like Anime Pride, Current Collection, etc. will be put on hold for a while.
- Postings will consist of single image/wallpaper, and a youtube video. That’s about it for content.
- Comment replies will happen in bulk rather than instant.
- Comments to friends blog posts will be less frequent, or lacking in length/depth. I will still be reading though! 😀
I’ll still try my best to reply to all your comments, because you’re all very important to me, but please don’t be sad if I can’t reply! I still read every one of them. 😀
Here is a youtube video of me doing some spontaneous sketching. Hope you enjoy it!

Love the video, I’m jealous of your skills XD I recently picked my sketchbook up again but I’ve got a LONG way to go before I can even touch something that good. Not to mention I’m horrible at drawing in photoshop.
Thanks Persocom! It definitely takes a lot of practice. I’ve still got a long way to go myself. I’ve seen some work that’s totally on another level from me. Gambatte!
I wish I could draw like you >.>
btw, what song was that?
^_^ Thanks Nopy! The song is So In Love With You, from DJ Max.
Thanks, now to go find it 🙂
Do you use a drawing pad for computers to do that? I’ve been wavering whether or not to get one to make photo editing go faster. Especially when it comes to really detailed work.
Ya, I’ve been busy with school and work so blogging gets harder to do ^^;;. One reason for my hiatus a while back lol.
Yup! I use a Wacom tablet – specifically the Intuos 3. It does make it easier to do photo editing, but isn’t required. Doing color tweaks, I still prefer to use a mouse. Tablets are useful when you’re doing paint detail. The gains it provides for photo editing is rather minimal.
I’m glad that you’re now collaborating with Tomoyo on your blog. You two post pretty fun and interesting stuff! 😀
teach me drawing ;_;
jk ^^
lol ^^ thanks for the complement. 😀
Finished three games in a shot?! That’s COOL man!
Your video… darn.. you draw just like drinking water, “look” so easy. If only I have half of your skill man.. 😉
They were pretty quick to finish games – Zelda Spirit Tracks, Bayonetta, and Silent Hill Shattered Memories, which are roughly 10-20hrs each game. Now I’m playing Final Fantasy 12, yes TWELVE. That will probably hold me out until FFXIII coms out. 🙂
Thanks for the complement! 😀
I’m watching figure skating right now, and saying exactly the same thing!
^^
juz curious. how long you took to master this amazing skill?
Im a artist myself and i luv anime and manga, your drawing and CG really inspiring ^^
^^ I’ve been drawing since I was maybe 5, but didn’t actually get very good at it until the last 15 years or so. I started drawing anime when I was about 16. I’ve still got a long way to improve!
Wow.. age 16.. i guess i still got a long way to go ^^;
For me I got the tentative to try “perfect” just a drawing or CG itself and its like never ending…. and well Juz like my friend always say to me… “dont care anything, just draw finish and move on next one”
I get his point, one cant improve if always circle around the same thing… hmm.. sorry for the draggy paragraph, just to share my experience ^^;;
Your friend is right. The more you draw, the better you’ll get. Though it is always important to look back on your previous work and see what you need improving on. Always look at other people’s work, and see if there is anything you can learn from it. It’s the only way to get better. Self exploration works too, but you’ll improve the fastest by drawing upon other peoples’ abilities.
^^
all the pro says the same thing
will keep that in mind =)
Being busy with work is great news! It means you actually have something to work on. Though it does mean you’ll blog less, but what matters is you’re not going to stop blogging. The bottom line is the blog is yours, you have a life outside of blogging, so I think people will understand.
Keep drawing, I want to see more of your work (when you have time to do some of course)! I really like the last pic with the blue haired girl with the orange top. That’s very similar to the colors I would use! I really gotta try out capturing a draw session as well. (^_^)/
Thanks Pyauki. Sorry I haven’t commented on your Olympics post yet. I did read it. 🙂
I await your capture session!
I easily understand your situation… there is a bunch of game i’d like to continue/finish too but no time to do so, or I should stop a lot of things I switched to PSP for more accessibility, but still… I miss gorgeous PS3 games ^^;;;
Always amazing videos. Looks so easy… love to watch, thanks for sharing! =)
I’ve been heavily into my DS games for portable play. With the upcoming FFXIII, I really want to finish FFXII first, so it’s back to the console backlog for now!
PSP is awesome, but I’ve found the majority of my portable gaming seems to be on DS. My PSP is collecting dust. 🙁
Strange creatures those gamers when they start to play they just can’t stop 😀 😉
Still you are going miss you along with your drawings who are always stunning!
lol! I’m not leaving for good! I’m still gonna be drawing and posting here. It’s just that my posting behavior and posting type will be a little different. I’m just apologizing head of time in case people are wondering why my posting has changed. ^^
Nice! That second one looked remarkably like Kasuga.
Well, work gets the best of us. We’re all busy in one way or another. Hang in there.
That’s why I call for shorts! I’m a little guilty for doing them, but they sure do help towards my three-posts-a-week-sometimes policy.
I wish I could game some… Between gunpla, homework, blogging and sleeping, I just can’t procure any time. Did sorta get back into the Gundam vs. Gundam though.
I totally agree with you – with only 24hrs in the day, and 8 of those are for sleeping, while another 8 is for working, it doesn’t leave much time for hobby. So you gotta juggle. Priorities switch up once in a while, and that should be acceptable, especially in the blogging world. After all, it’s your blog. 🙂
I like your posts and admire your skill.
How long will you stay according to this priority? Will you switch back? (just curious XD)
Yeah, definitely will switch back at some point. Just not so soon. Snapping photos of my figures and then blogging about it is time consuming, where as sketching artwork, and doing photoshops is less so. Less to maintain on the blog, less to write about. Just straight up pic & youtube vid for a while.
I’m always impressed by you since i just can’t even draw the basic form, you might see me with problem even for having the pencil stand in my hand 😀
I’ll miss you a bit that’s for sure but real life come first and a job is important. Don’t overdo it thou ^^
lol! You and Lyli both think I’m going on hiatus! I’m actually not. I’m just changing my posting habits. I’ll still be doing art and posting on here. You just won’t see any figure reviews, or special posts, and posting frequency will be a little bit different. My comment replies and site visits will also drop in frequency as well. That’s about it.
Thanks for the encouragement though, Katsura-chan! 😀
After losing my job I’ve been gaming practically non-stop for nearly a month now. No More Heroes 2, Bayonetta, both Mass Effect games, MadWorld, Lost Odyssey…good times, good times.
I can understand giving up on the figure photos. I took a break from it for a while since 1) I moved and had everything packed up, and 2) it really is a time consuming process. I don’t put nearly as much effort into my photos as you do yours, so I can only imagine how long it takes you to finish a fig photo shoot.
It’s great to take a break and simply have fun! After losing your job is the best opportunity to catch up on things, and to explore new avenues. Glad to hear that you’re not sitting on your ass doing nothing but sulk, like some people do.
You’ve been quite busy ever since your move! You rarely updated your blog if at all. It definitely is time consuming. The gear change should still be alright, since I’ll still be putting out content, just not as much. 🙂
Ack, now that you’ve mentioned it I still have to complete FFXII. Will have to do that in the summer when I will be back in Hong Kong indefinitely.
It sounds like that quite a few people are taking a hiatus or change of pace recently. Man I would like to take a break from things and enjoy doing things I like to do, but there is nothing particularly interesting to do over here in the UK.
But at least you said this change of pace of yours is not a permanent change. Maybe we’ll get to have things more smoothed out later in the year.
