Designing a character is difficult, and can be overwhelming . One can't even begin to think clearly with so many different variables. It helps to break it down a bit and go through a certain process in order to achieve a character who is unique and creative. Today, I'll go over some of those elements.

L

This week, I got two figures within 24hrs of each other. First was Supercell Miku Hatsune (The World Is Mine), and the next day, Black Rock Shooter. I took some pictures, but for some reason, didn’t feel like doing a photoshop of either of them this week. Not sure why. Oh well. My blog isn’t about catching the latest greatest trends anyway! It’s about sharing what I love. ^_^ So instead, I drew a fan art. Last night, I was up from 10pm until 2pm, reading Death Note. I’d already finished reading it before, but something about it is just gripping. I really enjoyed it. I was looking for a picture of L facing forward to use as reference. Interestingly, I only found 2 (and they’re not good shots). Every other shot of L shows him either 3/4 view, profile, or just slightly between front and 3/4 view. It was a little frustrating, but an interesting find. So today, I decided to paint up L from Death Note. He’s my favorite. I like how goofy he is, yet so lethally smart. He’s Light Yagami’s complete mirror. As such, I couldn’t help but imagine that L has a dark side to […]

Nendoroid Gamers!

I’ve had this ambitious idea in my mind for at least two months now (maybe even three). The original idea was to have them hold Playstation 3 controllers, since Konata is all about the Playstation. But well… I couldn’t get their hands to get close enough. Besides, Wii is way more of a party system anyway. More on how this images was accomplished after the jump!

Expressing Otakuism Proudly … Without Looking Like One

EDIT: due to the definition of what Otaku really is, this topic more describes being an “anime fan” than a true otaku. Take what you will from it and be proud to express your fandom! Sometimes, one may feel the need to express their interests and hobbies proudly. They might decide to wear a shirt of their favorite anime, or carry a keychain of their favorite character, or use a wallet emblazoned with the logo of their favorite show. But the truth is, most non-otaku people will look at you funny. They don’t share the same interests as you, and don’t understand your fandom is not of nerdiness, but of a form of expression. Much like how a sports fan wears a sports jersey of their favorite team. The difference though, is that sports is widely accepted. So let’s look into what you can do to still be a fan, but not look like a dork.
