Happy Holidays from Radiant Dreamer!

Happy holidays everyone! It’s the first day of my holidays, and fortunately all my shopping is done. It’s been snowing a bit here, and apparently, record temperatures, but nowhere near as bad as say, Halifax or something, where the temperatures fall below -40c. Now THAT’S crazy cold! This festive season is when most of my friends have gone back home to visit their families. This of course, makes a boring holiday season for me. But what better time than to put some effort into improving my art, and playing Valkyria Chronicles! I’m fortunate that most of my family is local, so I don’t have to travel long distances to celebrate Christmas with them. In case you’re wondering, no I didn’t get a special variant Loligoth Asuka figure. I am a photoshop artist after all. More on that after the jump!

It’s been a while since I have posted. I wish though, that it was under better circumstances. Last night, I helplessly watched my adorable little hamster Mochi, breathe his last painful breath while he lay warm in my hands. He had a great run, though for only a short one year. He provided great therapy for my wife and me, and was always there when we needed him. We did what we could to give him a happy home. He was our first furry friend, and I still think he’s the cutest little guy we’ve ever met. He learned to love, I think, and appreciate. My wife and I learned to love and appreciate what he had to offer for us too. He will be missed dearly. Here are some videos of his life:

OMG, I can’t believe I’ve been sick for more than a week… and I’m still sick! Still interesting how even while I’m sick, games are still part of my life.

Wow! It’s only been a short amount of time, and already Radiantdreamer has reached 40,000 hits! I’m happy to provide content to my viewers, especially the photoshop kind! I apologize for the lack of a photoshop celebration image, but it’s been pretty busy lately, and Little Big Planet beta had me hooked for quite a while! Thanks everyone for the continued support! I will do my best! 😀

I’m super happy that the site has reached 20,000 hits! Thanks avid readers! I’m glad that you are checking back and reading my articles! I guess that means I’m doing something right! So here’s my simulated fighting game photoshop image of Figma Saber VS Fraulent Rei. Looks like Rei is well on her way to losing.

The Mirror’s Edge – now live

So I’ve been looking at my blog stats, relative to the type of viewers on my site, and have decided to keep Radiant Dreamer specific to anime. Anime figures, my anime artwork, anime topics, and anime news. By focusing specifically on that, it becomes better for me, for the blog, and especially for my readers. You come here not to be inundated with boring topics on game development, or strange non-anime related artwork. You came here to check out figure photos. Photoshop enhanced figure photos. So that’s what you’ll get. Now that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped drawing non-anime stuff, or stopped writing about game development. Quite the opposite. I’ve started a new blog specific to those interests, called The Mirror’s Edge. On that blog, you’ll find more focus on game development from an industry eye, tutorials to self improve as a game artist, and news that are more video game oriented. I’ve started an RSS feed on the side so that you can still check out those topics if you’re interested, as well as another one on the other side so you can bounce back. Yay!! My blog has finally reached 10,000 hits!!! It was only last month that it hit the 6,666 mark! As of 10am this morning, the blog stats were captured. I’m at that point in my life where I need to re-evaluate, and understand myself. What makes me happy? Am I working towards that?

Ah! Taisen Shiyo, Ah! Taisen Shiyo : Come Back! Publisher : Snow Dharma Released : 2004, 2005 Platform : PC I wish I wish I wish I had this game. Too bad it was released in 2004. Chances of finding this nice little fan-made game are next to nil now. A sequel was even made for it too! C’mon, you know you want to play as adorable little Chiyo-chan and kick some serious ass (who wouldn’t?). Well, too bad… I can’t find it anywhere. So here are some screen-shots for amusement purposes anyway.

Goodbye Joe-Joe

Last night, my favorite fish wasn’t feeling well. My wife noticed weird behaviors in him, as he was struggling to swim, and lay at the bottom of the fish tank. He was turned sideways, and the color of his scales were very pale. My wife knew immediately that his time here was now limited. He died in the middle of the night, and now lays motionless at the bottom of the tank. I’ll be giving him a proper burial later on today. Here he is in his youth, enjoying the comfort of his home. Here he is just after the New Years. His tail grew longer and looked very elegant. They say that fish are protectors of the household, and that when a fish dies, it is taking the hit in place of a family member. I would like to think that my noble Joe-Joe has done the same for us. May he rest in peace.
